I appreciated staying here. Everything was excellent, excellent location close to the best restaurants in the area, the Dordogne valley, and the Dordogne shores, amiable staff. Superior double room with a huge bed, had essentials required. The terrace had a wide range of well presented meals for breakfast...

Review for Hotel La Villa Romaine, Carsac-Aillac:
What a fantastic way to conclude our trip! The well-appointed and spacious units featured a huge bed and wonderful bathrooms, making our stay very comfortable. The staff were smart and attentive, ensuring we received excellent service throughout our visit. The elegant ambiance of the hotel added to the overall experience. Located just off Sarlat, the hotel offers a charming setting in rural France. We also enjoyed warm food in the lovely outdoor restaurant.

The room was nice and spacious, clean, with a good view. The staff, specially David, the owner, was very friendly and helpfull. Food at their restaurant was superb, for 35 Euros you'd get a starter, main dish and desert. Superb !!! Good breakfast as well.
The only thing lacking was a curtain in the shower/bathtub to prevent water from spilling.

I recently stayed at this luxurious 4-star hotel and I must say, I was impressed. The hotel's location was ideal for exploring the surrounding area and the owner provided valuable recommendations for sightseeing. The pool and outdoor service area were absolutely stunning, although I wish it had been warmer so I could have enjoyed them more. The rooms were spacious and beautifully designed, and the staff was extremely welcoming and attentive. The natural surroundings added to the peaceful atmosphere of this venue, creating a truly relaxing experience.
I would have liked to see this place better equipped for families traveling with young children. The current amenities include just a fridge and sink, but some basic cutlery/crockery, an electric kettle, toaster, and possibly a microwave would make it more complete.

The terraces and pool are well designed, making one want to spend most of one's time outside. The old barn has been carefully restored, as are the two adjacent buildings. Overall, I would rate the grounds and exterior design at 9, and the interiors a 7. The breakfast service is excellent, but I was a little disappointed with the dinner----good service, comfortable dining room, and the menu seemed just right, but the execution of the dishes a bit lacking.

Great hotel ,great location, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a beautiful place near the river ,very quite but only 10 min.drive from the center of Sarlat. It is beautifully decorated , the rooms were big , we got the family room with 2 seperate bed rooms and a living room with kitchen. It is a very convenient place for a family to relax or to visit the Dordone area. The staff were very kind and helpful in whatever we asked and needed. We highly recommend it to families or couples.
We read that the restaurant is very good and this was another reason for choosing the hotel but it was closed because it is still not the tourist season. If the restaurant is closed and no hot drinks etc.in the evening, the hotel should provide some basic kitchen tools to prepare some small dinner or hot drinks(we asked and got some once they understood what we wanted - in English... :-)

Spacious and well-appointed rooms. Complimentary WiFi. - Key location near the Dordogne. - Heavenly pool.
Deceptive management on pricing. Limited menu options for dinner.

General style and overall setting.. Generous sized bedrooms.
Limited menu. Restaurant closed Sunday /Monday. No alternatives or advice given. Expensive, especially for the food that was on offer. Car park - only minimal security and no permanent lighting. Minor lighting faults. Loose bathroom floor tiles indicative of a minimal level of maintenance. In summary: could do better for the money.
